Season 1[]

"The Crocodile's Dilemma"[]

On the night of January 20, 2006 Gus was sitting in a patrol car on the side of a Duluth freeway. He was talking to his daughter, Greta via walkie-talkie receiving updates on the Vikings football game. AsLorne Malvo past him he turned on his lights and pulled him over.

After a minute Gus exited the patrol car and asked for Lorne's license and registration. Lorne overheard Greta calling on the radio and threatened Gus to either press the issue and face death or allow him to leave and live. Gus chose the latter and returned shaken to his car.

"The Rooster Prince"[]

Gus is seen at a briefing at the Duluth Police Department about investigating the murders in Bemidji. Before leaving, he is put on animal control due to the other officer being sick. After a day of work, Gus returns home to his daughter Greta, who is talking with a friend over the walkie-talkie. In his room, he looks across the alleyway to see a neighbor in another apartment undressing. She notices him watching, but continues anyway. He later sits down to dinner with Greta, where she talks about a school assembly about self-defense against bullies. Greta didn't really buy into it, saying that going to someone for help isn't always an option. Gus tells her sometimes there is more than one right thing to do, thinking about his confrontation with Lorne.
